Pascal Programming: First Steps

This page is obsolete! (Left on the web in case of links to it.)

The "meat" that is here is now posted in the "Which Pascal?" section of the main index to my Arduino and Pascal tutorials.

If you would be so kind, I'd love to know how you came to be on this page. Please send an email to me?

This tutorial is available in three parallel versions. Each is tailored to the needs of readers with a specific Pascal. (If you don't have one, and want advice, see the material in the tutorials' table of contents, or just "go with" Free Pascal, aka, FPC

First steps with Pascal using the opensource FPC Pascal, aka FPK, aka "Free Pascal".

First steps with Pascal using Borland's Turbo Pascal, version 5.5, which is available for free download.

First steps with Pascal using the free Pascalite compiler.

For more information on the alternate free compilers / environments....

FPC Pascal: Opensource, and the basis for Project Lazarus, which may be a "free Delphi"... i.e. a GUI for producing Windows and Linux applications. (I only say "may" because I haven't tried it. It looks promising.)

Borland's Turbo Pascal 5.5: The classic Pascal. A major force in program development before Windows.

Pascalite compiler: While less widely supported than the other two, less "powerful", this one has some special strengths arising from the fact that there is a microcontroller available which is designed to run Pascalite code, and Pascalite is equipped with special commands to access the microcontroller's inputs and outputs, which include ADCs and counters.

Ad from page's editor: Yes.. I do enjoy compiling these things for you... hope they are helpful. However.. this doesn't pay my bills!!! If you find this stuff useful, (and you run an MS-DOS or Windows PC) please visit my freeware and shareware page, download something, and circulate it for me? Links on your page to this page would also be appreciated!

Want a site hosted, or email? You can also help me if you sign up via this link to 1&1's services. (I wouldn't recommend them unless I was happy after several years as one of their customers. The Google advertisers pay me. I know nothing about them or their services, of course.)

AND passes... Valid CSS!

Why does this page cause a script to run? Because of the Google panels, and the code for the search button. Also, I have some of my pages' traffic monitored for me by eXTReMe tracker. They offer a free tracker. If you want to try one, check out their site. Why do I mention the script? Be sure you know all you need to about spyware.
