My website appears as part of the services I get from CompuServe. It was created with software they gave me. In appreciation, and to promote the efforts of the best page-smiths, I have set up a page of links to some good websites. I am also running a competition, as explained below.
The 'Competition and Best Homepages' page of this website has links to good homepages. Please look at the three homepages in the first group. (If your browser doesn't let you easily go back to a previously viewed page (e.g. my competition page)... poor you! CompuServe's version of Spry makes it easy... just click on 'Back' or on the arrow at the right of the 'current URL' box. It's like using 'History' with the Windows Help system)
The best page in each group will go forward and be included in a later trio. Thus the quality of the pages being recommended will gradually increase.... if you do your part!
Please vote on the first group of three pages first. If you have the energy, do the next trio, and the next, and the next... (I will scroll old groups off the top of the page, and add new trios at the bottom.)
Please vote on the basis of the page's quality, not your interest in its subject matter. For example, I'm not very interested in quilt-making, but if I found a good page that would be of interest to quilt-makers, I would vote for it.
When you vote, please feel free to send a recommendation for another good ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages page that deserves to be entered in the next round of the competition. You can recommend your own... if it says more than 'My name is xyz, my dog likes chasing cats and this page is under construction'. Perhaps people recommending their own page should send TWO page recommendations.....
